Day 91

I've started all over, but since I've been at this for 90+ days I'm considering this day 91.  I didn't want to call it day 1 again, because it's really not.

So here I am, Phase 1 day 1 attempt #2 at P90X.

Here is where I started at on Chest and Biceps today:

Standard Push Ups - 10 regular 10 assisted (knees)
Wide Front Pull Ups - 6 assisted (with chair)
Military Push Ups - 12 assisted
Reverse Grip Chin Ups - 6 assisted
Wide Fly Push Ups - 15 assisted
Closed Grip Overhand Pull Ups - 6 assisted
Decline Push Ups - 7
Heavy Pants - 16 @ 10lbs
Diamond Push Ups - 15 assisted
Lawnmowers - 15 @ 15lbs
Dive Bomber Push Ups - 6
Back Fly's - 15 @ 8lbs

Now, how this may not be THAT impressive I started out at 3 push ups on day 1 more than 90 days ago, and I started out with the bands and moved up to the pull up bar.  So, I've definitely made progress.  I can't wait to see what the next 90 days will be like.

So, here I am, Day 91, starting my second round of P90X.  I'm only showing side by sides of day 60 and 90.  If you want to see what I looked like in the beginning at day 1 you can check that out here.

Day 87-90

Ok, So I only ended up hitting Legs and Back on Wednesday of last week, and fizzled out the rest of the week.  In my defense we had a tornado warning on Monday.  I got ready to work out, even had my clothes on and the sirens went off.  My workout was ruined for that day. Then I had finals two days last week so I wasn't able to finish the week out.

I made a decision.  I'm starting ALL over again.  Phase 1 Day one.  I got through the first 60 days of this great, but days 60-90 because of school, life issues, etc...things just got in the way and I lost steam.  Now that I'm finished with school and my life has somewhat calmed down, I've decided to start all over again fresh and new.  I was going to do it again anyhow, but this way my husband can jump back in with me.

The plan?  Get up early before his work and work out.  While the kids are still sleeping.  Let's see how it works!

Day 86

I had missed Plyo for the past two weeks, so I was determined to do it today.  I finally popped the DVD in around 4:30 in the evening.

Five minutes into the DVD doing deep prayer squats and then a series of what feels like a hundred lunges I realized a few things.  1.  I still hate Plyo with a passion.  2.  I still NEED plyo and it's essential to my weight loss and workout regimen and 3.  This workout was going to kick my butt today.

By not doing Plyo the last two weeks, I have really set myself back quite a bit.  Who would have thought ONE workout would pack such a punch.

Tony starts in telling us not to eat for at LEAST one hour before the workout.  Thankfully I had about half a box of vanilla wafers about half an hour ago followed by that large diet Dr. Pepper....

So, Plyo was still as excruciating as ever.  I still CAN'T do plyo jumps or rock star hops without feeling like I'm going to upchuck then pee my pants.  Both results of having four kids.  My insides are just not where they should be and when I jump it feels like my stomach goes into my neck.  The pee thing, well, gals you know...

I find myself quoting Tony throughout the DVD.  I practically have these things memorized.  I know that leg is on FIRE...it BURNS, and it's SUPPOSED to burn!   I've started to modify my moves to take the impact out of it, and my knees have been thanking me for that.

I did NOT do the bonus round.  I was lucky to make it to the end of the regular round without killing myself.

So.  I feel like I have epically failed these past few weeks.  I've eaten whatever I've felt like eating, and I've skipped workouts for several reasons.  This technically should be my last week, followed by a rest week next week, but I'm thinking of extending it two extra weeks and seeing what that does for me.  I'll decide that by the end of this week.

Days 82, 83, 84, & 85

I'm totally slacking on the blog, but in my defense I've had a LOT of drama this week.

So, Wednesday day 82-Legs and Back followed by AB ripper X.  Still struggling through the workouts.  Feel like I've taken two steps forward and three steps back...but at least I did it!

Thursday should have been Kenpo.  This day my father who was headed here from Arizona broke down in the middle of New Mexico.  He made it to Amarillo, TX where my husband met him and helped him the remainder of the way here to OKC.  Needless to say that day I didn't get a workout because of all the family drama.

Friday - Rest Day.  I also graduated from college this day.  Woo hoo!  Go me!  Finals are next week.  It's a bummer I have to go back after the graduation ceremony, but at least I'm at the finish line.

After looking at my graduation photos, I felt really disappointed in myself.  I just looked fat in them.  My arms still look SO chubby.  I feel after working out as much as I have been that I should be looking a LOT better.  I know I've been slacking these past two weeks as far as hitting all the workouts, and staying on track with the diet.  This has not helped me one bit.

Today, Saturday was Chest, Shoulders and Triceps.  This one was weird.  It is usually one of my favorites, but what was odd about it is in some exercises I did better than I normally do and some I couldn't do as many reps as I did the last time.  I did ab ripper and made it through ALL the V up roll ups, and did 30 mason twists.  I normally can only get through 20, and have to rest after the first ten.

I'm considering extending this phase by two weeks, since I've slacked so much the past two.  I'm also considering just finishing up this phase like normal, then starting all over again but doing lean which from what I understand is mostly cardio...still can't make up my mind.  All I know is I'm getting burnt out.

Tomorrow is mothers day, and as much as I'd love to rest I just can't justify missing Plyo for a THIRD week in a row.  I really need to hit plyo tomorrow as much as I hate it.  We will see how it goes....

Day 79, 80 & 81

Ok, so I was really supposed to "bring it" for the final 30 days of this 90 day journey, and instead I'm totally petering out.

Day 79 was Sunday.  We went on a trip out of town this day so I didn't do plyo, and we ate Cracker Barrel that evening.  I really hate myself for how I've been eating.

Day 80 Monday, it was my oldest daughters birthday and due to a fun filled day of birthday plans my workout got axed again.  We went to Olive Garden for her birthday.  I had Fettuchine Alfredo.  It was fattening and delicious.

I woke up this morning feeling super doughy.  I just am NOT happy with myself at all.  I'm loosing momentum and I don't know what to do....thankfully the scale doesn't reflect how I feel, because I FEEL ten pounds heavier than I did a week ago.

So, today I came home from school and popped in Yoga X and tried to get back on track.  I made it through the video, but of course had to stop it ten million times to deal with my little girls.  Every time I have to stop it I feel it sets me back ten paces.  I just don't feel like I give it my best when it's start, pause, start, pause, etc....

Feeling VERY bad about myself today.

Day 76, 77 & 78

I honestly couldn't have a more boring post than what I'm about to write, so first of all I'm sorry.

Thursday I had a lot going on with my kids and I missed Kenpo.  That means I missed Plyo, Yoga and Kenpo this week.  Three major workouts.  I was pretty upset with myself over this but there was really nothing I could do about it so I just have to "do my best and forget the rest".  Sounds lame I know...but I just have to keep going.

This morning I woke up determined to work out because I just have been feeling pretty crappy about not giving it my all this week.  I did chest and back followed by ab ripper x.  What a great workout.  I'm doing 15 push ups now, which is amazing.  I could only do three when I first started this program.  Some other highlights from my workout are 9 wide front pull ups (with the chair).  I was at 6 last week, and 9 dive bomber push ups.  Last week I struggled to do 5.  After I did nine today I jumped up and screamed and threw my hands in the air with excitement.  My oldest daughter looked at me like I was a bit looney, but I was thrilled.  I almost doubled it from last time!  My back is looking freaking awesome!  I keep flexing my back muscles to look at them and plus I love the feeling that I can really feel those muscles.  I know, it's dorky but I'm just so darn proud....

Today was the last of our April birthday/anniversary rush, so life should calm down from here and I should have a slight bit more time on my hands.  I graduate from college next week so that will free up even more of my time.  Then I have to figure out what I'm going to do.  My husband wants to try and jump back into it and maybe we do lean this time (I really need some cardio to shed some pounds and to help me with my endurance).  I've also heard about this couch to 5K program for the iPhone that I'm thinking about trying.  I SUCK at running, but SOOOO admire people who can run.  I have thought about giving this a try along with a P90X video 3X a week to maintain results.  So my options right now are pretty open!
